NEW YORK
east 74th st apartment renovation
Located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, on East 74th Street, this full renovation transforms a family apartment into a spacious and highly functional home designed for a family of four.
The reconfiguration includes a completely new kitchen renovation, three full bathrooms, and four bedrooms, creating a generous and well-balanced layout that enhances both private and shared living spaces.
A key design feature is the integration of custom cove lighting in both the living room and the primary bedroom, adding depth, warmth, and a subtle architectural rhythm throughout the interiors.
The private primary bathroom has been conceived as a spa-like retreat, featuring a freestanding bathtub and a walk-in shower, combining comfort with a clean, contemporary aesthetic.
Materiality plays a central role in defining the character of the apartment. Chevron-patterned flooring introduces movement and refinement, while checkerboard flooring adds a classic contrast in selected areas. The fireplace serves as the focal point of the living space, finished with large book-matched slab tile that emphasizes scale and sophistication.
Directly opposite the fireplace, a custom wet bar completes the living area, featuring open shelving and an integrated wine rack, designed for both everyday use and entertaining.
Overall, the project redefines the apartment as a spacious and coherent home, where materials, light, and custom-designed solutions integrate seamlessly to shape an elegant environment, thoughtfully designed to adapt naturally to the daily life of a family.
